Using the brief from a YouTube video by Will Paterson I created the following concept for a fictional e-commerce company looking to become the Martian equivalent of Amazon.
THE CHALLENGE
We want you to design a logo for the new company: Solar Drop.
Solar Drop is a British interstellar technology company with a focus on e-commerce and artificial super intelligence.
We sell products on our App to Mars inhabitants and ship them from Earth. We deliver everything from chocolate to kitchen appliances to seeds and computers. Our deliveries take place once a month on an automated flight with zero emissions.
We hope to increase this as the colony grows and we also have plans to build a distribution centre on Phobos within the next two years.
We have no brand identity as of yet, but it must be relevant to inspire space colonisation, and show we are a reliable company for those on Martian territory.
THE SOLUTION
My concept depicts a shuttle being sent up from Earth, traveling through space to Mars. The sweeping line shows the path of the shuttle and the star at the centre of the "A" represents not only space but also the package that is being carried to the red planet.
